It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

As we enter the final days of Autumn Term 2013, the last week or so has seen many festive highlights.

The Infants kicked off the celebrations with their nativity performance.  Telling the story of the birth of Jesus with a series of catchy songs, narrators and colourful costumes, they gave three fantastic performances to their family members which were enjoyed by all.

Yesterday saw the turn of the Juniors in their annual carol concert at St Augustine’s Church.  With a Victorian theme, Year 3 peppered the performance with their retelling of Charles Dickens’ famous ‘A Christmas Carol’ with Jude taking on the role of Scrooge.  Throughout the performance, Year 6 pupils read from the Bible to retell the story of Christmas.  Year 5 used a series of props to tell us the stories behind some of our current traditions and Year 4 gave musical performances with hand bells and a class orchestra.  Mr Douglas and Mrs Soloman have worked with the choir who wowed the audience with their singing.  The evening even saw a performance by the staff choir.  Well done to everyone involved.

Yesterday afternoon the Infants enjoyed their Christmas parties with entertainment provided by a magician.

Today we are looking forward to our Christmas lunch and tomorrow the Juniors are off to the cinema and will have their parties and Christmas sing-a-long on Friday before we all break up for the Christmas holidays.

Thank you to the visitors to the blog over this year.  Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all again in 2014.
