About Us

Mrs Bunting, HeadteacherWelcome to Mount Charles School, a large primary school with approximately 420 pupils, in St Austell (click here for a map of exactly where we are).

On 1st June 2016, with the support of the community, we became an academy as part of the Peninsula Learning Trust along with Penrice Academy, Carclaze, Fowey, Lostwithiel, Luxulyan, Mevagissey and St. Mewan.  We joined the Trust in order to collaborate closely with other schools, whilst continuing to build on the values and ethos that contribute to us being a popular and successful school.

We hope that parents, pupils and visitors will visit this website regularly to find out what is happening in the school.

On the front page you will find a clipboard with reminders and notices, such as cancelled sporting fixtures or closures (please also check the blog page for updates on mornings if there is severe weather).

We aim to put all our newsletters on-line shortly after they have been issued and we have a growing gallery of pupils' work - this is added to throughout the year for you to share your child's success at school.

We are very proud of the learning opportunities we provide and enjoy celebrating the success of all children at Mount Charles school. To help us, we have the following aims:

Aims of the school

You will see:

 Appropriate personal, social and academic challenge.

 Enthusiasm, passion and motivation for what we do.

 Meaningful, stimulating, practical learning developing skills for life.

 People taking part in a wide variety of activities in school and the community.

 A mutual respect for each other and the world we live in.

You Can Do It

These aims reflect the school's commitment to promoting British Values - you can read more about how we do this here.

I hope you find this website interesting and informative. We are in the process of updating this website, but if there is anything else you would like to see on here, please do get in touch and let us know.
