Introduction
Last term we sent out a questionnaire on environmental issues which we asked the parents to complete. Here are some of the results from the completed surveys.
What are the important issues?

Parents voted that global warming was the most important issue out of all the issues voted on.
What are people doing about global
warming?
On a scale of 1-10, parents decided that on average they were helping to reduce global warming by a rating of 6 out of 10.

The activity most people say they are doing is to turn off lights, but only 24% of those asked say they are walking to work.
Driving Issues

We then looked at comparing the scores parents gave the importance of global warming against the number of miles driven in a year. As the votes of how important people thought global warming was increased, the average number of miles driven per year decreased.
Using Electricity
On average, Year 6 families have 3.84 TVs in their houses. Of these, on average 0.5 were left on standby.
However the survey results showed that on average each house had 1.2 lights that needed to be switched off.
The 4 Rs
When asked, parents voted that Reduce was
the most important of the 4 Rs.
